Bonnie Lea HARDMAN

1Website, www.idahopress.com/community/obits/?obitid=6153, 9 Dec 2009. "Bonnie Strain
Bonnie Lea Strain, 65, passed away at home from a lengthy illness on Dec.1, 2009. She was born Feb. 13,1944, to Jenny van Otten Hardman and Lehi Richard Hardman. Bonnie was born the youngest and only girl of seven children and had fond memories of childhood pranks with her brothers growing up in Midvale, Utah. Although her life took her many places in the West she called the Treasure Valley home. While living in Emmett for brief years she worked in the packing sheds and was active on a bowling league. She finally settled in Nampa and shared her culinary skills with the public by working at places like Lebaron's Honker Cafe, Champions and Elliotts. Bonnies most pride came from her children, nothing brought her more joy than to be surrounded by her kids and grandkids. She was the kind of mom that no matter what you did she would be there with words of encouragement or words of wisdom. Bonnie is survived by children Jinny Smith, Nampa, Bob Strain, Boise, Martin Strain, Boise Tammy (Eric) Cravenho, Sacramento, Calif., Mindy (Mike) Breier, Nampa, and Michael Pearce, Nampa; nine grandchildren and a great-grandbaby due in February, also brothers David Thun, Richard Thun, Curtis Thun, Allen Hardman, and Dee Hardman. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Robert Thun. Cremation is under the direction of Alsip and Persons Funeral Home. A graveside memorial will be held Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at 11 a.m., at Kohlerlawn Cemetery in Nampa."
